Sync Outlook 2013 with Iphone 5S

I am using ITunes to sync contacts and calendars in my laptop Outlook with my Iphone 5S using a USB cable. It seems to work ok.

Question #1: I don't get any pop-up screen allowing me to preview what is going to change/sync before the sync happens. I don't know what specifically has changed in Outlook or my Iphone. Is there any way to preview this?

Question 2: I would also like to sync Outlook Tasks and possibly Notes. Can this be done?

#1. You won't ever get any preview showing what's changed. #2. Someone will correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the only way you can sync Outlook tasks and notes is if you have an Exchange account.

iCloud will do it, at least for #2, although Tasks aren't ideal, but they will sync.

I am new to the Iphone thing...does using Icloud mean all of my Outlook info (calendars, contacts, etc) is stored on a cloud server?

Some additional questions if you don't mind.

#3: In ITunes, when I select Info to Sync Contacts with Outlook, there is another drop down choice to sync with Windows Contacts...what are these Windows Contacts?

#4: In ITunes, when I select Info to Sync Contacts with Outlook, there are two options: All contacts, and Selected groups. In the Selected groups, there are two 32-digit lines of numbers/letters. What are these? Are they two address books of some sort?

#3. Windows contacts are contacts you put in to your Windows address book (which is outside of Outlook).

#4. No answer for you there - don't sync with standalone Outlook (I have an Exchange account with my employer).
