I can't activate apple TV 4

Hello Dear Apple Support,

I bought my Apple TV and IPhone 6S Plus from Dubai at Airport, and now I'm in Ghana working. I can activate my IPhone and is working properly but for my Apple TV 4 I couldn't activate. I've tried to using my IPhone 6S Plus with "Set Up with Device" (Couldn't Activate Apple TV - Try again. If the problem continues, contact Apple Support).

Second option is using "Set Up Manually" (Date and time couldn't be set. Try again. If the problem persist, contact Apple Support),

I've tried several time to activate my Apple TV 4, disconnect all cable, reset the router, and try again and again but still I couldn't activate my Apple TV. Please I need our help to solve my problem regarding activate issue. Thanks for your attentions,

Date and time issues usually point to an issue with the Internet connection and dns settings. We would need more information as to how your ATV is connected to the Internet...

fyi this this is a user community and Apple is not here....

Dear Protodd,

Thanks for your response and correction, I connect to internet by my Wifi Dongle by Router (TP Link), and also tried with my IPhone 6S Plus and I've tried with wifi from my smartphone.

I would try restarting router and modem. Then restarting the ATV itself. Maybe even setting a static IP. You should also confirm the ports are opened properly...

I did restarted my Modem already, but I don't know how to restarting my ATV it self. As you know I don't understand how to do setting IP or TCP and UDP 😁. I'm new on Apple products so quite difficult for me to do all that your explanations. Bay the way thanks a lot for your information and help, I will try to following all steps from you. I will keep trying to activate my Apple TV, or if you have another simple option that I can understand it.

You would need to refer to your router manual on how to ensure proper ports are opened. ATV can be restarted by going into the settings.

To be honest with you I don't know how to setting the router manual and on my Apple TV I couldn't get in to Setting because of this activation is failed. my Apple TV keep going on "Can't active Apple TV"

Your router has a manual, like any device, you need to read it in order to see how to open the ports for your router. If the port 123 isn't open it won't be able to set date/time on ATV and won't be operational.

Hi iwan,

vazandrew is correct. Best workaround I can think of is to take your Apple TV to a friend's house to activate it with their wifi then bring it home with you.
