Display glitch / error in Logic Pro 9?

Hello everyone.

I've had this problem for a while, but it's got to the point where it literally stops me from working because it's so in the way. Basically i'm working from a MacBook Pro on Logic Pro 9 (El Capitan) and whenever I use the Trackpad / Wireless Mouse to scroll through the project the display freezes and it becomes one big blur (the app doesn't crash), see images below for example:

All I did at this point was scroll up from the automation and it does the above, next image:

It also occurs on the project screen. And the last bit where it really gets me:

In the above image I am using "sforzando" and trying to load up an instrument. This is what the finder came up like. 😕

Has anybody else got this same problem? Has anybody had this problem and fixed it?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks for your time!

Only the last version of Logic 9 (9.1.8) has a chance of running on El Capitan but the fact is... Logic-9's built in graphic routines are now pretty much outdated, in Apple's most recent operating system. It's only going to get worse.

If you're on a MacBook Pro that has graphic switching (hardware/software) turn off Graphics switching is System Preferences (probably under Display) this will force the computer to use hardware all of the time.
