5th generation ipod touch stuck on DFU mode, won't restore or update.

Hello, I just tried to update my ipod touch 5th generation by doing it through the ipod itself. It got stuck on the update screen for about fourty five minutes, so I decided to put it in DFU mode, I plugged it into my PC and tried updating it through itunes. It will not let me update OR will not let me restore my ipod through factory settings. I get the "an unknown error occured 3194" error. Can somebody please help me, i've installed the new version of Itunes and it doesn't really help because it leads me to the same old version of itunes that i have.

If you see Error 3194, Error 17, or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build' in iTunes - Apple Support

What do I do about this, why would the update be offered to me if the device is ineligible ?

That typically means that your computer has software or host files on it that is used for jailbreaking or other computer abnormalities

Did you follow the suggestions I the link?

Send it into Apple and they will relieve it from DFU mode

I followed the directions you posted about making a new host file. Going to try to update / restore my ipod now. Will post back with results, thank you.

During the update the ipod disconnected, stopped updating and i'm back to the same " There is a problem with the Ipod "ipod touch" that requires it to be updated or restored." message :/

EDIT:

Then i got the error message:

"The ipod software update server could not be contacted. An uknown error occured (1671)."

I've tried all of the steps in the page the "more information" button leads too which is this:

Just tried, got the error " there was a problem downloading the software for the ipod, an unknown error occured (-39)

Tried again on the alternate computer, the update was completed but no changes were made to the ipod. i tried turning it on and it went back into DFU mode.

If you successfully restored (went through all steps without error) to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
