Did you follow the suggestions I the link?

EDIT:
Then i got the error message:
"The ipod software update server could not be contacted. An uknown error occured (1671)."
I've tried all of the steps in the page the "more information" button leads too which is this:

Dec 10, 2015 1:41 PM in response to lllaassby jujunater,Tried again on the alternate computer, the update was completed but no changes were made to the ipod. i tried turning it on and it went back into DFU mode.

Dec 10, 2015 2:34 PM in response to jujunaterby lllaass,If you successfully restored (went through all steps without error) to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..
