iTunes won't play on my Apple TV or Airport Express but I can play youtube video on Apple TV through safari no problem. I have a Macbook Pro (Mid 2009) running 10.11.2 and iTunes 12.3.1.23 on Apple TV model A1427 using 7.2 software. My wife's Macbook Pro (Mid 2009) is running 10.10.5 with iTunes 12.3.1.23 with no issues playing iTunes on Apple TV. My MBP is on my Airport Time capsule 5 GHz WiFi and the Apple TV is on the 5 GHz WiFi and my wife's MBP is on 2.4 GHz.
Everything points to my iTunes. It tries to connect when you press the play arrow and say "connecting to Apple TV" but a pop-up box comes up saying "An error occurred while connecting to th AirPlay device Apple TV. The network connection timed out." The AirPlay icon turn orange and the Apple TV is grayed out.
I have reset the Apple TV, re-started the Airport and rebooted the computer. No help. Wife's MBP still work fine and so does safari playing youtube videos on my MBP but no iTunes...
Does anyone have a fix?
