Dec 10, 2015 7:13 PM in response to Lisa MPby steve359,Rule 1: do not run it dead as a general practice, and do not at all if it can be avoided. That really breaks down the battery capacity.
Rule 2: If you must use it in-class in in-library or other remote uses, then go ahead and know that battery replacement will occur sooner ... that is just your computing need.
Some keep it on charger almost all of the time, running it down to 50%-ish every 2 weeks or so. Others want you to use the battery-only more often.
Keep in mind that battery "cycles" matter more than how long you had them. Using 100% of the battery in 1 cycle, so using the battery down to 50% twice is 1 cycle. Last I heard, batteries are good for about 1000 cycles.
