Q: ios 9.2 syncing issues with iTunes 12.3.1

After applying the IOS 9.2 update, I attempted to sync iPad with computer. Here's what happened:

- Error -54 Unable to write to iTunes disc (this message displayed twice) Finally just disappeared after reconnecting device on 3rd attempt

- Spinning disc forever on iTunes and iPad. Only stopped after disconnecting device several times

- Music App - copied several hundred tracks to device again (no idea why, they were there before and no settings changed)

- Music App - after sync finished the spinning wheel just went on for ages. Finally stopped after disconnecting several times and soft reset.

- Music App - shows difference of 3 tracks (less) on total count between iPad and iTunes library - no idea why or what they are

- When syncing - the total count of music tracks suddenly just dropped by 154 - no idea why or what's been lost. Will need to look at a backup file.

- Artwork now no longer displays on home movie files in Video APP

Have synced device several times now and each time it's doing something different, despite nothing having been changed.

Anyone else with issues?

    Hello mariotheplumber,

Sorry to hear that you are seeing some syncing issues with your iPhone and iTunes. Let's see if we can figure out what is going on.

When looking up the Error 54, it does state that in most cases, the content still syncs over. One thing you can try to help reduce this is to consolidate your library to put everything under the iTunes Media folder. Another is to check for an third party software that might interfere with syncing with iTunes.

Of course if it continues, you might need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. Take a look at the article below for more details that might help fix the multiple issues you have been experiencing with syncing.

    Many thanks.

Error message disappeared on reconnecting device on 3rd attempt and has not reappeared on subsequent sync attempts. Can only assume that some cache somewhere was locked. Anyway, it sync's now.

Now its back to my very long list of Apple woes.

    Thanks
