Q: Keep getting "Finish changing your pass..." notification

I'm using El Capitan.  I recently reset my Apple ID password.  I've cleared my keychain and logged out of iCloud and back in.  Now at random times a day I get a notification with, "Finish changing your pass..." followed by, "Your passcode also protects access to data stored in iClo..."  Then I have the option to click 'close' or 'Enter Passcode."  It doesn't matter what I click, the notification goes away, nothing happens, then it pops up again in a few hours.  See attached.

Identical Issue.  Mac OS X 10.11.3.   Clicking "Enter Passcode" does nothing - just clears the pop-up.

Add me to the list of folks having this problem. I talked with Apple Support, escalated up to a senior advisor who couldn't fix it, finally escalated to Engineering and he said the wait time is typically 2-3 weeks for an answer. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to hurt anything, but it's annoying.

FWIW, this started for me right after I changed my Apple ID password (no 2-factor involved...just from old to new password) and then the issue started. I would go to the trouble of reinstalling OS X and all my apps if I thought it would help, but if it's something wrong with my iCloud account I'd be wasting a lot of time.

I'm beginning month three in waiting for the highest level of iCloud engineers to respond with a fix. The senior Apple advisor I'm working with has kept me well-informed and my issue was escalated beyond the engineering level above him to the folks who actually developer the iCloud code. This is an iCloud problem...I get the same thing on any machine where I have an iCloud account. While it's annoying, it does go away when I feed it my login credentials, but then it re-appears whenever I restart my Mac and that's the only time I see it.

The engineering team recently did some verbose logging and captured the logs from my iMac when it was happening, so perhaps I'll eventually find out what's causing it. When I do...I will post the solution here.

Same problem here; did someone already find a solution which actually works?

I solved the issue by disabling iCloud on my mac, restarting - enabling iCloud back, and restarting again.

I didn't get notified, but interestingly, I found this line in the console:

    2016-07-25 08:57:03.382 bird[279]: notify name "com.apple.cloudd.accountChanged" has been registered 20 times - this may be a leak

I am still having this issue and the problem on my Mac remains as of 9/29/2016. Anyone know if there's a solution?
