Q: I am having problems with playlists when using Airport to connect with Apple TV.  This has happened only since I replaced my iMac 24 with an iMac 27 running El Capitan.  has anyone else had the same problem?

iTunes playlist has drop out on some tracks - always at the same point - when playing back with Airport connection to Apple TV.

When played through internal speakers there is no problem. In trying to solve or at least narrow down the probem I've been looking at any updates for the Airport Base Station I'm using but can't find any mention of any development to interface with El Capitan

However I am also having problems connecting with a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 despite Focusrite telling me that it should work perfectly with El Capitan ( I have installed their updates ) .  Of course this last is seen as a Focusrite problem.  However it seems to me that the one factor the two have in common is an interface between core audio, its DAC and other pieces of software - one Apple and one 3rd party.  Don't know where to go next because there seem to be indications that every USB interface has had some problems with El Capitan and some 3rd party companies admit continuing problems but other don't. So even replacing the USB interface with any other USB device seems a less than certain option.  Going to Thunderbolt devices raises the ante considerably and I'm not sure I trust El Capitan to work with them at the moment.

Anyone had similar problems?
