Clear Quicktime recent history in DOCK?

Hello,

So when I right click quicktime in the dock it shows all of my recent history. I go to file>Open recent> clear recent and it disappears from the menu history, however it doesn't clear the dock history. I've opened and closed it and tried it over and over. The dock history will not clear. Any recommendations?

I had this issue in Sierra (you can clear the Dock menu manually with the Terminal command 'killall Dock') but it appears to have been resolved in High Sierra.

Now when you click on File->Open Recent->Clear Menu in Quicktime, recent files are also cleared from the Quicktime Dock contextual menu (accessed by right clicking or control-clicking on the Quicktime Dock icon).

Here's how i did it

  1. Upper left corner apple symbol
  2. Recent Items
  3. Clear Menu
  4. Close quicktime player
  5. Re-open quicktime and check dock -- should be cleared

This step clears all history, so you may want to select just quicktime.

Cheers

Nate

I've tried Natajames operations.

After clearing menu history, I closed Quicktime and re-opened.

Menu was still there !

So I restarted the computer.

Menu was finally cleared.

Cheers!
