Hi All,
Had to replace my MacPro Hard drive following a crash, running El Capital, version 10.11. I reinstalled my Office for Mac 2011. Excel and Powerpoint seem to be working fine, but I can't open Word. The icon comes up, but can't open documents nor create new ones. Suggestions?

You've applied the latest updates to Office, correct? If so and it still doesn't open, then do as suggested by Bob and post your question on the Microsoft Mac forums since it's their software you're having trouble with.
Because Office 2011 is so much older than El Capitan, there have been real problems for users. A new update 14.5.9 came out this week for Office 2011, mainly to fix El Capitan compatibility issues. Try Help>Check for Updates in any of the Office apps, let it install, restart and see if anything has improved.
