I understand that you've lost some functionality in your Magic Trackpad. Fortunately there are a number of steps that can help resolve such behavior detailed in the article linked below (despite the seemingly irrelevant title).

thanks for the link. didn`t really help except that i found out how its now working...
as far as i remember i used three fingers on my trackpad to select text or drag and drop or resize windows (now when i use the three fingers i go to the next desktop). after Your answer i realized that i have to make a real „klick“ on my trackpad. BUT this only works on something like a desk. and is not how it worked before.
but again…thanks

My apologies for the misunderstanding! In this case, in System Preferences > Trackpad, under the 'More Gestures' tab, you'll want to un-check 'Swipe between full-screen apps,' or change the functionality to 'Swipe left or right with four fingers' by clicking the small triangle next to this option. This will release the 'Three finger drag' to behave as expected in all cases.

i tried that but it`s still not working. maybe i should bring it to a store to have it checked ? it seems quite strange that i can drag only with this „clicking“.

Dec 30, 2015 1:43 PM in response to Allen Aby Quinten Quist, the solution was simple. its the same with the new trackpad. Apple changed the handling. its easier with the new trackpad but it was better before it got changed.
