Q: My Macbook Air Battery is not charging

My Macbook Air Battery is not charging

My Macbook Air is 11' Mid 2011. My problem is When I plug the charger, it sometimes light on and charging sometimes no green light on and battery say, it is not charging. At that time battery percentage stay still and won't go up or down. When it happens, i move the magnet charger tip on mac and i used to get green light on. But later I try to fix it by myself and i did try to clean with cue tip dipped rubbing alcohol. And then boom! no lights on at all. Whatever i do, not working. i think i did something wrong when i clean, maybe short circuit! Please help if you fix this problem.

- I tried to reset SMC on my Macbook, it didn't work!

- My battery status is "Battery is not charging, Power Source: Power Adapter"

Bring the MBA in for service. There is nothing more than you can do.  Considering the number of cycles, a new battery may be in order.

    Ciao.

You most likely will need a new battery. But have you tried a SMC reset.  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295  Use the on Mac notebooks with batteries you cannot remove. Also check the magsafe, both the power supply and the Macbook Air.   https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203207   My daughter has a Macbook that at first glance, the macsafe connector does not look like it is powering, as in no green light. On further inspection,I found that it was on, but the green light was very dim. I downloaded coconut battery and ran it and found that it was charging but at such a low rate it would not show up in the systems report. It was charging at 4 M/A. Which meant it took hours to charge. When magsafe is charging ,the light on it should be glowing yellow or yellowish orange.
