what does error -3212 mean?

I get this error to. I've already posted a couple of times, but never got a reply.

What are you doing when you get the -3212 error? Is this an error from the store or when using an iPod or when burning a CD?
I get the error message when I try to log into the itunes store.
yeah ditto.... it tells me that when i try to connect to the store... it kinda ****** me off because i bought 4 $25 music cards so i can put some songs on my ipod but i apparently cant redeem them now...

Error -3212 is "Permission Denied". And the interesting thing from your network diagnostics is that you're getting this just pinging www.apple.com, let alone the store.
What happens if you go to http://www.apple.com with IE? Are you using IE or another browser? iTunes uses the IE settings for network access, but if you've never set up IE because you're using another browser like FireFox or Opera, you may not have IE set up.

i can access the apple website. what else could it be?
If IE can hit www.apple.com and iTunes can not, then you have firewall software that is blocking iTunes. What are you using for a firewall? Go into your firewall and explicitly add iTunes to the rules to allow it access to the internet.
i get this meesage aswell and apple arent beign very helpful!

I was having the same issue. After reading through the other suggestions, I recalled that I had recently update my Mcafee (the free Comcast version). It automatically installs another firewall. Once I specifically allowed iTunes access, all was well...Hope this helps.
