Q: Looking for new features in Maps
I use maps a lot as a tour operator and Professional Photographer. Few things needed or buried and can't find.
A) Need a way to turn off toll roads not always best route!!!! (Example travel from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale, your software wants to take turnpike, my way is I95 the routes are 12 miles different and I95 is 20.00 cheaper with no tolls even though you want me to take a toll road to I95 from orlando with only a 2 mile difference on no toll roads,at a cost savings of $2.00 in tolls. Plus amenities and fueling options are more abundant on I95 and average speed on I95 is 70mph same as Turnpike. However that said if you show toll road option show the reason like traffic or construction?
B) If a toll roads is necessary show toll amounts to your destination so we can be sure to have cash or if toll by camera ( Tampa Fl,Norfolk Va toll by camera ) Allows you to know actually complete cost of trip.
C)Multi stop routes like google where we can both visually and by time build routes for multiple destinations.
D) Cost per leg on Multi rout and total cost for entire route. You could have a setting to add vehicle or set mileage also use local average fuel cost or have us enter fuel cost with newly added tolls cost feature give us moderately accurate cost of trip.
E) Even an ala Tesla show gas "prices" and locations based upon gas mileage and drive so we can find filling stations before we run low. (optional before leaving on laid out map have them enter approximate fuel level) another feature fuel nearby with cost. (Obviously have a disclaimer that your not responsible if they run out of gas if car is out of tune or info is incorrect)
F) Food and Lodging need tweets to show food by price range and food nearby doesn't work well? ( in Orlando Under breakfast shows Cupcake shops) Lodging same thing (example was in Denver looking for a hotel room for the night and hit it in cherry creek the results were not good and should include pricing.)Maybe add the ability to Pick sources Like Hipmunk,Priceline ect and maybe a price range for the night?
