Ok... so when I used my old G5 's firmware battery it booted up into Open Firmware.Thank god. now next ill actually boot it (if my spelling is wrong sorry because I am so excited) Ok update: I have this itch (portal 2 reference) that's bugging me is the part where it said its 1909 (here's why). I tried time&date as well as decimal dev rtc. but I did both of those & rebooted into OF again. And it did it again. 1/1/1909. I'm formatting my 8gb USB stick w/ Lubuntu. I did both AHT and setup with option at boot, but AHT said Not supported. And Setup did the prohibitory symbol.  So what do you think?

UPDATE!!!!!!! I booted it w/ cmd-v and still boots with no logo nor spinny globe. Just a gray background.

I tried making a test partition on it w/ a boot disk for a partition manager on my USB and when it said it failed it said HD corrupted. I'll try those cmds. I will use my 2nd hd to try using the computer.

ok i did all 3 cmds w/ new hd in and then it died again at bsd root in verbose. ideas?

Setup disk does prohibitory symbol. It still says No Bootable Source so the SATA cable might be to blame?

So i am testing it by using my 2nd G5 to check if it is hardware. Or software
