Do i have to restore my iphone before sending it in for repair

Sending it in soon for repair does it need to be restored or just turned off and removed sim? And also does apple need to access the phone because i have a passcode on it and plus i have contacts, notes, family pictures and perosnal things on my device

The standard procedure is: backup you iPhone, remove SIM card, send it in (with all the content or without, your choice), get it back, if it hasn't been erased just put the SIM back in, if it has been erased restore your backup on the iPhone.

They won't look through your stuff, don't worry.

But if you feel safer, erase it completely (after having it backed up and removed the SIM).

Yeah i will just back up > then erase the device 100% and remove sim..and because i'm sending it in is because of battery problems, charger port problem (very wobbly side to side from day 1 out of box) and sound no good sounds too flat, and also the cpu peformance no good i put o a note that the device should be replaced do you think apple would replace it because these probelms i've been having since the day i took it out of box and tested and used the phone
