Could Not Connect to "Apple TV"

Hello everyone, I have the new Apple TV installed at home, it worked great for a couple of days. Then mirroring from my Macbook Air 13 stopped yesterday. Everytime I click to mirror, it says COULD NOT CONNECT TO "APPLE TV".

Mirroring from my iphone and my ipad works fine, but not the macbook air.

All software and os are up to date, no pending updates.

The only thing that was done between the time it was working and the time it stopped was that I reset my keychain password on macbook air because it was popping up every minute asking for the password.

Hoping for some help and thank you in advance.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

  1. Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
  2. Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
  3. Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
  4. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
  5. Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
  6. Restart your mobile device.
