Apple Push preventing itunes from opening

Hi, I just upgraded to ios 9 on my iphone 5s and itunes 12.3 on my windows 8.1 machine. If I open itunes it hangs and will not open even though it is running in task manager. As soon as I kill apple push itunes will open. Does anyone have a fix for this? I have done a clean install and rebooted.

Hi.

I have the same problem and i find a solution with that way :

1. Open the task manager , select "APSDaemon.exe" and stop it with right click (need to do this once)

2. I find the file "APSDaemon.exe" to path "Program Files (x86)Common FilesAppleApple Application Support".

3. I move it (cut-copy) to "Desktop". You can choice any path to move it.

After that itunes open properly , as itunes cant find and run "APSDaemon.exe" to preselected path.

Note : With that way , i dont know if Apple Push services work. I guess not.

If you have synchronization problems , you could move "APSDaemon.exe" again , to default path.

I know that isnt the best solution but at least i can open itunes , and for now i dont have some synchronization problem or other.

I have the same problem too. Running Win.7 Professional and iTunes 12.4.1.6. It's been a while since I re-booted my PC, but I tried to open iTunes today and it would not open (as I have seen in the past). I used to have to re-boot the PC to get iTunes to load, and then accidentally discovered today that if I open the Task Manager and just shut down the Apple Push process (a separate Win. process), that iTunes immediately opens up and runs correctly. Although I'm happy that I may have found a workaround to getting iTunes to run in these cases to avoid a painful 10-20 min. re-boot of the PC, applications, WinExplorer folders, and webpages that I need for my work, I also see from the 9 months of posts on this issue that either Apple has not found a fix, or is apparently not working on this problem.

Not a set of symptoms I've personally noticed being reported before.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. I cannot promise it will work for this issue, but it would be the fairly high on the list of things that Apple Support would get you to try.

If the problem persists use the iTunes Feedback form and include a link to this thread so they can see what troubleshooting steps you've already taken and that you're not alone, or register with developer.apple.com and make use of Apple Bug Reporter to report the issue. They don't generally talk back, but they do claim to read everything.
