Use Ctrl+B to enable the menu bar if hidden, then use Edit > Preferences > Playback and look at the entry for Play Audio Using. This will normally be set to either Direct Sound or Windows Audio Session. Changing the setting may help.

Thank you for the response! It was set to Windows Audio Session so I changed it to Direct Sound, and it started playing...through my Apple TV but not my PC! So I turned off Home Sharing and it still plays on th Apple TV but not my PC!???????
Ok. Figured it out! There is a (subtle) box to the right of the sound slide-bar at top left, hover cursor, prompts "Choose which speakers to use". Clicked box, chose PC, problem fixed! Thanks, friends! And Happy Holidays! Dick
