Q: how do i get my phone back up to go to photos instead of iPhoto

I have just changed from iphoto to photos on my mac but when i back up my phone images are still going into iPhotos instead of photos, what do I do?

VIN,iMac (27-inch Late 2009), iOS 9.2

    Hi there!

     

    It sounds like you are connecting your phone to your computer and it is still opening iPhoto by default rather than Photos. You should be able to change that in the Image Capture application:

    Mac OS X 10.6 and later

    To disable this notification:

    1. Connect the iOS device.
    2. Open Image Capture (located in Applications).
    3. Select your device from the Devices list.
    4. Click the Show Device Settings button (Show Device Settings button) in the lower left corner if Device Settings are not visible.
    5. Select "No Application" in the pop-up menu in the Device Settings.

    No Application

     

    You may need to click the disclosure button (  ) at the bottom left of the window to see the option depicted in the above screen shot.
