Taking my iMac from USA to India - Power Cord

I am taking my iMac from USA to India. Can anybody tell me if my computer supports the Indian power voltage Do I just buy a new power cord that plugs into the Indian Power sockets or will I need to use an Voltage Converter.

As far as I know US has Electricity at 110V/60Hz, India has it at 230V/50Hz.

IMac Intel Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 500GB HD Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Yes, the power supply is capable of sensing the input voltage and adjusting automatically. This is typical of most modern GOOD QUALITY electronics these days.

When I travelled to Scotland I just plugged my camera's charger (normally used in Canada) into the appropriate adapter which then went into their wall socket (providing the higher voltages.) No worries. It just handled the higher voltages.

The Core Duo iMac will work perfectly on that power in India (assuming you are going to an area where the power is stable.) So yes, you just need the correct adapter so you can plug your standard North American plug into that to fit their particular socket.

I think about the whole environment a little more perhaps. You live in a temperate rain forest, that barely has 2 months of what one could actually call heat. I live on a desert plain that is 100° for weeks on end and can have unbearable humidity one week and be parching dry the next. I am concerned about my Mac often. Fortunately we have the same electricity as you.
