Q: Wifi dead spot

I want to get a new iMac for my home studio however the room suffers from intermittent wifi signal. I have a virgin media wifi router. I wondered about air port but don't want to effect other devices apple or otherwise in other room. All I want is a reliable wifi signal for this one new machine. Can anyone advise?
