Itunes installer won't open windows 10

I recently purchased a new computer which came with windows 10 home installed on it. When trying to install the version of Itunes found on the itunes website, the program does not open but instead appears with the message User uploaded file

This is the same for the other installer files that have been suggested for windows 10 errors and I can't seem to find a solution. I've even tried contacting the Microsoft technical support team however they were of no help either.

Help me please!

What is the name of the installer file downloaded from Apple's site? I've seen a couple of reports where the file names were not as expected, suggesting that Apple's servers were delivering the wrong file ... it may be worth trying the appropriate installer from this list of direct links and see if that solves the problem:

The third of these - which is actually the 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer - should be used if you get a warning about video card incompatibility when you install the standard 64-bit version, but also may resolve issues with playback, QuickTime compatibility, and problems with some third-party applications (including Outlook).

I tried to install from option 2

iTunes 12.3.2.35 for Windows 7 or later, 64-bit: iTunes6464Setup.exe

Lenovo have replied to me but they can't help. This is the reply I received.

Thank you for contacting Lenovo Services.

> We apologize for the issues you are experiencing with your machine.

> Kindly contact apple as this is soft wear related issue and apple helpdesk will be able to advise you better on iTunes.

Unfortunately my iphone 4s is no longer under warranty so Apple won't help.

These are the standard installation files. As tt2 suggests, I'd try the previous (12.3.1) version to see if that makes any difference. It may also help with diagnosis if you can report the specific PC model you're using and the edition of Windows ... type winver into the Cortana box, click on Run Command - you'll get details like this:

User uploaded file

In File Explorer, right-click on This PC and select Properties to show hardware details:

User uploaded file

There's nothing there to suggest that iTunes shouldn't install and run correctly. As far as I can tell Windows may generate the "This app can't run on your PC" error - somewhat misleadingly - if an installer is incomplete or corrupt. It may be worth checking the size of the installer you've downloaded - for 12.3.2 64-bit it should be this:

User uploaded file

The other cases where the error message appears are cases when a 64-bit installer is being run in 32-bit Windows, or attempting to install an 16-bit application in 64-bit Windows, etc., none of which seem to apply in this case.

Thank you. Your suggestion that the set-up file might be corrupt prompted me to download the set-up again. I previously downloaded the set-up via a wireless connection and noticed it was slow to download and failed initially before eventually downloading. I downloaded again via wired connection and this time all worked!
