In the finder - documents, pictures, downloads etc when I right hand click and get the list, the only things that show are as follows:
no cleanup/cleanup shows in documents or pictures. Why? How do I get it to?
It shows in downloads/desktop.. basically everything but documents or pictures!

After some experimentation, I found that the "Clean Up" option only appears if you do not have an option set in "Arrange By". If you have "Arrange By" set to any value, the "Clean Up" is not shown since it is already cleaned up.
I already have them set to none in all my folders, yet it's still just the documents and pictures folder that aren't showing the "Clean Up" option 😟
Not to worry, I have found a solution!! Thank you for your help though! 🙂

I had the exact same problem.
What you wrote about setting 'Arrange By' to none is absolutely correct. However if you use the method shown above it does not always work. The method that does work is to go to Right click the folder and select 'Show View Options' then set both the 'Arrange By' and 'Sort By' to 'None'. This will fix the problem.
It's interesting to note that if after doing this, if you right click the folder, and change the 'Arrange By' to 'Name' (or anything else) and then try to set it back 'None' it doesn't work. You will need to go back though 'Show View Options' to set it on 'None'. Another 'undocumented feature' of this software is that your background colour disappears when you set 'Arrange By' to anything other than 'None'. I have no idea why!

This is good for all of our windoze convert friends who insist that their Mac needs to be cleaned up! I can now suggest that option and they'll be as happy as clams.
When I right-click in the finder, the "cleanup" option isn't showing. WHY?!!!!!
