Q: Why doesn't my computer recognize my iPod when it's plugged in?

So, every time I plug my iPod into my computer, the trust option doesn't pop up, and it doesn't show up on my iTunes, all it says is, "Would you like to allow this computer to access your photos?". I've plugged my iPod into other computers and it works fine. I've plugged in other devices into my computer and it works fine. Also, my iPod would randomly just freeze for no reason and I don't know why. The time is all messed up as well, meaning it randomly switches time, and the time stops working if I turn it of. This started about a week ago and it's really annoying. Can someone please help?

I also have this problem, iPod touch 5th generation iOS 9.2 but I'm running Windows 10 64 bit, I tried uninstalling and installing itunes removing all related plugins and services and there are no other programs interfering with itunes so not sure what to do, also tried resetting the ipod to factory settings as well. My computer recognizes it as a external storage device though if that helps at all.

Do the other devices also have iOS 9?

    Try:

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

    - Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

    - Restore from iCloud backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Is there any way I can transfer backups to a different computer or to iCloud. Because I've updated my iPod on the computer. But then it stopped working after that. so the backup is on the computer that isn't recognizing the iPod.

Copy the backup file to the corresponding location on the other computer.

This includes telling you where the backups are located
