Sorry to hear that you are unable to pair your iPhone with your Sony Hi-Fi speaker. Let's see what can be done to get it paired.
I would first start with taking a look at the troubleshooting outline below. Start with making sure your devices are near each other, restart your iPhone and speaker as well making sure your iPhone is up to date to get them to see each other.
Get help connecting a Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201205
Try these steps first
- Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory and iOS device are close to each other.
- Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is on and fully charged or connected to power. If it uses batteries, test them to see if they need to be replaced.
- Restart your Bluetooth accessory.
- Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- On your iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is on. If you can’t turn Bluetooth on or you see a spinning gear, restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Unpair the Bluetooth accessory, put the accessory back in discovery mode, then pair and connect itagain.
Let me know if this helps.

Dec 15, 2015 1:30 PM in response to norm123by yuley95,HI Norm123,
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I've stepped through those points and still get nothing.
I have followed the instructions that came with the hi-fi and have it in pairing mode, my phone has been able to recognise other things in the past but all I get is the spinning grey wheel and no discovery of the hi-fi.
I Have tried my iPhone, my iPad and my wife's iPhone so beginning to wonder if the hi-fi is the problem...
Any any other tips would be most welcome.
Cheers,
Andrew

If you have set the speaker for discovery and it doesn't show up, then the only thing I have left would be to contact Apple Support to have them take a look at it.
