old macbook with many problems

hi all,

its been a few years since i use my macbook. its a macbook 3,1. I believe its Leopard, v1.5.8. i was told that this macbook can be upgraded up to snow leopard v1.6.3 here are a few problems that i find.

1. since i updated my itunes and a few other, my youtube cant go full screen. all other movie streaming web suffer the same problems. i dont know if the updates creates this problem or not, but this problem occurs after the update.

2. i deleted my old bootcamp to create a new one. however turnout my cd drive cant read anything. it ejects the disc a few moment after a cd is entered.

3. due to the cd drive error, i could not try to recover whatsoever.

another misfortune is i misplaced my cd package....... and so my macbook is crippled. can you guys help me with this problem? i live in a small town thus there is no apple center nearby. i would like to try to solve this myself while i cant travel for the time being. thank you in advance for your helps.
