iMessage and FaceTime Activation Error

iPod touch 5th GEN updates to iOS 9.2; Try logging in to iMessage and Facetime only to get a message "An error occurred during activation. Try again." Also received "Activation failed, cannot connect to server." Have tried hard resets, change date/time settings, everything and still will lot log in and connect to either application.


Please help, any advice. Need these functions for kids to communicate while traveling.
