Q: iTunes Extras do not appear

my movies that are purchaes in HD with iTunes Extras do not show any options to view the extras on my Apple tv 4th generation. But, when I open the same movies on my ipad air 2, you can see the extras listed on the bottom of the screen.

Is there an option i did not setup in settings? Or a swipe on the remote i am supposed to do?

    Hello Andy Nielsen,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand you're trying to find the iTunes Extras in a purchased movie on your Apple TV (4th generation).  If you're not seeing the menu when opening your movie, then you are likely using Home Sharing to view the movie.  Instead, you will want to select the movie from the movies section as described below.

    Play movies with iTunes Extras

Here’s what you need to stream the new iTunes Extras:

    • Mac using OS X Mavericks v10.9.3 or later and iTunes 11.3 or later
    • PC using iTunes 11.3 or later
    • Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation or later) using Apple TV software 6.2 or later
    • iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 8 or later (You need to connect to Wi-Fi. Extras won't appear if you're connected to a cellular network.)
    • An active Internet connection

You can use the steps below on your Apple TV, Mac, PC, or iOS device for any purchased, HD movie that features Extras:

    • On your Apple TV, select Movies, then select your movie to see the Extras menu. Extras aren't available from the Computer tile on Apple TV (Home Sharing).

Buy and play movies with iTunes Extras

    Take care.

I Too am having this problem with certain movies. It appears to only be dream works movies like how to train your dragon. Even when I go to the store page it acts like I have never nought the movie. But the extras work fine on everything else. Just not my Apple TV 4th generation.

I Figured it out. In order to see the menu for the Extras. The system has to be set to HD in the Settings. I had it on SD as default. After switching it, all menus show up in HD movies.

DO you have the original How to train your dragon or other dream works movies? Because mine are still not working.

Movies as well as extras are available for a limited time. All movies receive a limited window (to itunes or Netflix or HBO etc) which is why it's recommended to download movies/music to your local iTunes library to ensure you have access to purchased content even when the iTunes availability expires...

That is not the case. The movies work fine on all my other devices in the cloud. There is no time limit on iTunes extras. It appears to only happen with dream works movies.
