Q: siri and front camera sound

hey i have an iphone 6 and i have a problem with siri and front camera video sound. siri wont respond to my voice and the front camera video doesnt have any sound when recorded. i have tried to restart the network, siri been restarted, dictation restarted, checked the voice memo and its working fine. upgraded to latest ios but the problem exists.i have checked the front camera video recording on snap chat and face time and it works.i have tried all that is given on these forums. i thought that its because of the proximity sensor but if it was damaged then the voice memo and other front camera apps shouldnt work but face time and snap chat front camera videos are working fine.

help me fix this issue with siri and front camera video sound.

    Hi, bilalbutt312.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are experiencing an issue with various applications that require access to your mic on your iPhone 6.  Thank you for providing the detailed troubleshooting steps that you have gone through already and this leads me to believe the issue may be related to the microphone.  Let's start with creating a backup of your device and restoring as new.  Creating a backup will preserve your data and if this turns out to not be a software issue, you can restore from this backup to get your data back.

How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If the issue persists after testing the device as a new device, the next step would be to go through the troubleshooting steps outlined below.  Some of these steps may have already been processed so please feel free to skip those.

If you still have issues after testing the microphone on your device, try these steps:

    1. Unplug any accessory plugged into the headset jack.
    2. Avoid blocking the microphone and iSight mic with your fingers while holding the device or recording video.
    3. Remove screen protectors, films, or cases that cover the microphone, iSight mic, or iPhone receiver.
    4. Clear any debris from the microphones or iPhone receiver. Refer to the user guide for your device on microphone locations.
    5. Restart your device.
    6. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.

Typically this occurs from microscopic debris in the receiver mesh.

Get a toothbrush and scrub the receiver mesh at the top of the phone and then try it again.
