Q: Gift Card vs Credit Card

I have monthly membership to Apple Music. I also have credit card on file. when I add an ITunes gift card it always takes balance off ITunes card instead of credit card. I would like to use ITunes card for purchase of apps or movies and not music membership. Is there a way to do this?

    Howdy arholmes,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you'd like to get started with using iTunes gift cards as your payment type with the iTunes Store and Apple Store.  If you've already redeemed an iTunes gift card to use with your Apple Music subscription, then you should also have access to those funds when purchasing any content from the iTunes Store and App Store.  You can check your credit balance by following the steps in the link below.

    Take care.
