iOS 9.2 ¿worst realese ever?

I am an iPhone user since the iPhone 3, I've had several terminals and I've experienced a lot of different iOS updates. Before installing the last 9.2 iOS udpate, I was reading the target of this update, basically to fix and to improve Apple Music. I've been using Apple Music since it was released, so I've paid the subscripcion music service.

Since the updating (and with spare mobile data 30% of my frequent quantity), I noticed that my iPhone 6 was working slowly even having problems to work on a acceptable way. Problems using it by a wifi connection, problems with 3G/4G also, even using my iPhone with no internet connection, it worked horrible. Finally, when using Apple Music I saw that almost 10.000 songs (not downloaded in the past there but located on my iMac) had been downloading (it specifically appears as message at the top of the screen). When entering there, all of them was trying to be downloaded. Wait a moment, I DID deactivate weeks ago the data usage (when not using a Wifi) and I was not using wifi on this moment. I check that on Settings. Apple Music, it was still deactivated (it has no sense).

At this moment, I thought that what Apple Music was doing (without my permission) was to update the info of the music located on my iMac, to put it accessible on my iPhone (not downloading it offline). Something like if you downloaded first Foo Fighters's album on your iPhone, but you have the rest of the discography on the iMac, you would see all the albums on Apple Music, but only the first one downloaded. It sounds logical but not accepted anyway because it was using my iPhone (freezing it) and it was downloading info (I thought) when not using wifi (bye bye spare mobile data, thank you for that Apple)

Two calls after (contacting Apple Support) I realized it was worst than expected. I discovered (thanks to the Apple Support) that even if you have deactivated the data usage on Settings. Apple Music, there is another place call mobile data ("Datos móviles" on spanish iOS version) where it was activated the use for Apple Music (Two places to tell your iPhone to not use your mobile data when using Apple Music) Do you think deactivating on these two places to not use your data mobile for Apple Music should be enough for your iPhone to obey? NOPE. Both are deactivated and still using my mobile data. That's unnaceptable, iOS 9.2 was delivered really to fix something?

The last (until now) bad surprise, and probably the worriest, has been to discovered that these 10.000 songs (2.000 at other moments, 5.600 later) have been downloading to my iPhone. I have downloaded a lot of albums on my iPhone that I had never located there. It was on my iMac, but I don't want it on my iPhone obviously. Of course everything is mixed, the things I had before the updating and the rest of my library, everything downloaded.

What's the solution Apple provided me? To restore setting (it didn't worked), to restore the iPhone to factory settings (I am not able to make a backup before restoring my iPhone using iTunes. It appears an error message that makes imposible the backup) I have had to increase (to pay more) my mobile data because something (not me), decided to work using completly.

If someone has read all my post I thought it will give me the reason regarding the title of the post.

Still waiting Apple response to this mess.

Me too, Apple told me yesterday it could have been motivated by a corrupted version downloaded (problems with my connection or others) They told me specifically that WiFi updating is not recommended. What I don't understand is why they offer this OTA updates if they could cause several problems, or even why the downloaded file is apparently not checked when the downloading is finished to avoid the process if the file is corrupted.

I have restored my iPhone using iTunes, and I've to check using Apple Music if the problem is solved or not. What is not going to be replaced is my mobile data wasted during the last week 😠

I had to revert to 9.1 on all my iOS devices. I have a 128GB iPhone 6s Plus, woke to a message saying my phone was out of space. It had downloaded as much of my nearly 800GB music library as it could, on it's own. I never tell it to download for offline use. I stream when I want to hear my music on the go. It burned up over 100GB of my monthly internet bandwidth. We get 1TB per month so it's not a big deal there aside from my phone being full, but if that had happened on data I'd be looking at hundreds of dollars in overages. This is ridiculous. I have loved Apple music and never had a problem with Apple in the past, but this is a big one. Especially seeing as there's no way to turn it off apparently according to the conversation I had with them. I never even turned it on. Never asked it to download one file. Erasing it doesn't help, it started downloading again.

Thank goodness the signing window for 9.1 was still open. They need to address this immediately, people are going to be having all kinds of overage fees on this and they'll likely never see it coming.

We both had the same problem, I am waiting to receive my carrier invoice to check the fee this "bug" has caused me. After that, as suggested by Apple Supporto, I'm going to ask Apple for that fee to compensate me not the anoying behaviour of my iPhone, but at least the unacceptable fees caused.

Where is the user experience Apple provided us in the past? I can't believe what's going on lately.

I would absolutely do that. I bet a fix is out extremely fast. I'd imagine one would be well within their rights to charge Apple the fees or sue them if they fought it, some carriers charge crazy amounts for every GB you go over on data, and some people have as little as one or two GB as they seldom if ever use data. The user wouldn't be responsible at all, as it's not something we do/turn on, and Apple themselves on the phone say it can't be turned off. You're just screwed unless you turn off Apple music entirely (which would suck as you pay for that service, no reason one should have to stop using it) or revert to 9.1 before the window closes. And many people won't even know this is happening until it's way too late and they get their bill from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc...

It also seems to affect the battery. My 6s Plus since going to 9.2 went from 100% to about 12% in less than 5 hours. It usually lasts me two days without even charging it once the way I use it. So that's another big problem with it doing this.
