Q: Guided Access Issue

I have several students using iPads as communication device and they are all locked into the communication app with Guided Access. When the battery dies or a use the on/off button to put the iPad to sleep the iPad goes out of Guided Access. How can I prevent this? I want the iPad to stay in Guided Access no matter what unless I put the code in.

    Hello Denise,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that when the iPads that your students are using with Guided Access, it then gets disabled when the device runs out of power or goes to sleep.  You can prevent Guided Access from going to sleep during a session when setting up Guided Access, as shown below:

    Set up Guided Access

Tap Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access to set up Guided Access. From there, here's what you can do:

    • Turn Guided Access on or off
    • Set a passcode that controls the use of Guided Access and prevents someone from leaving an active session
    • Set whether the device can go to sleep during a session

Use Guided Access with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    Take care.
