Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand the touch screen on your iPhone will respond without even touching the device. You have tried some great troubleshooting steps, including restore as new. I would start with double checking to make sure the device has been updated to 9.2 as that was recently released.
Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
You may want to take a look at the troubleshooting steps below. After all steps have been exhausted, please reach out to us via the last section quoted below.
Check your touchscreen
Make sure that your hands are clean and dry, then try these steps:
- If you have a case or screen protector on your device, try removing it.
- Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
- Unplug your device.
- Restart your device. If you can't restart it, you can force restart your device.
If your touchscreen still doesn't respond like it should, contact Apple Support or take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn‘t respond to touch
