Disable Autocorrect for External BlueTooth Keyboard – iOS 9.2

Is there a way to disable autocorrect on iOS 9.2 for a connected external BlueTooth keyboard?

I would like to keep autocorrect enabled for the software keyboard on my iPhone, but have it disable for the external keyboard.

(Did the update to iOS 9.2 introduce autocorrect for external keyboards? I have not encountered this issue before. Autocorrect is helpful for the touch screen input on the iPhone, but makes very little sense to me on an external keyboard, where I can type proper.)

Yeah, the autocapitalization is part of my issue as well. However, unlike you if I turn off all the "auto" settings, it actually behaves sensibly. I guess I'll keep these settings for now, even though I'd prefer to have them on for the software keyboard.

For what it's worth, pressing and releasing the shift key before typing the first character of a sentence causes that character to be lowercase for me.

I also have this issue and find it very frustrating. It used to be the behavior of a bluetooth and the onscreen keyboard was different. On screen had auto correct functionality. The bluetooth keyboard didn't have these features enabled.

This makes my iPad very hard to use to author content, especially technical content where I'm using a lot of code/symbols. Yet I *need* these very auto correction features for the on screen keyboard, when I'm more likely casually browsing.

It's also very silly to paste URLs in places and have http -> Http.

Surprising lack of attention to detail from Apple

Same problem here and it absolutely drives me nuts! I am a fantastic typist and don't need the **** auto correct, and it keeps correcting things that are 100% accurate. iPhone 6S with an Apple 2013 Bluetooth keyboard. I can't believe Apple let this fall through the cracks. I use Korea IOS, and switch often between English and Korean on the keyboard, and they changed the **** keystroke with ios 9 for changing languages, which was annoying enough, but this auto correct feature is making me look like an incompetent fool in both languages. Help! Please!
