I also had this problem recently after adding McAfee Internet Security on my MAC. You might have two firewalls in place: (1) the one on your MAC and (2) a secondary firewall such as McAfee, Norton or other application. Your secondary firewall might be setting up your internet connection as a public network, blocking out all incoming connections. If you set your secondary firewall as a home/work network - you home sharing should work as intended.
