Q: CarPlay Woes

I'm using CarPlay with my iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2 and a Pioneer SPH-DA120 head unit.

Is anyone else having problems when saying "Hey Siri" it just does nothing? Hey Siri is activated on the iPhone and works perfectly when plugged into a charger. It's not the head unit, because the other voice features like messages and phone work perfectly.

Also Spotify and TuneIn Radio often don't work. Most of the time I open the apps on the CarPlay unit and just get greeted by a grey screen with Spotify/TuneIn written at the top and nothing else. Force-closing the apps sometimes works... but doesn't that defeat the object of CarPlay?

Come on Apple, i'd never expect you to release a piece of software as buggy as this...

    Hi there olivarrr,

It sounds like you are having some trouble using CarPlay with your iPhone 6. I would suggest using the troubleshooting in the following article from this article about issues with that feature:

Get help connecting your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your car stereo

    1. Check with the manufacturer to make sure that your car stereo works with CarPlay.
    2. On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Siri and make sure that Siri is turned on.
    3. Restart your iPhone and your car. Depending on the car you have, you might see the CarPlay Home screen when you turn it on. If you don't, look for the CarPlay logo on your car’s display.
    4. Connect your iPhone to a different CarPlay USB port (if you have one).
    5. Try a different Lightning cable.
    6. Update your iPhone.
    7. Install any firmware updates for your CarPlay stereo.
