It's the ability to link an Apple Music account to your Sonos controller/app, much the same way as you do to play Spotify through Sonos systems. Sonos uses its own proprietary network rather than having the ability to utilise Apple's Airplay feature (although I believe there are workarounds if you have some extra Sonos equipment). Bobseufert,

" Sonos (formerly Sonos Desktop Controller) allows you to control software for the Sonos Music System.

When it comes to playing music, we believe all rooms should be created equal. That's why you can put ZonePlayers in absolutely any room where you want music - either connected directly to speakers or to your home theater and stereo system. With Sonos, no room is off-limits and you can add music to practically any number of rooms: the bedroom, the backyard, even the bathroom.

Sonos puts the control of all your music and all your rooms right where it should be -- in your hands. With the touch of a finger you can find and play a world of music, whether it's streaming direct from the Internet or stored on your computer. Tune in to your favorite radio station or browse through your entire music library. You can play the same song in every room or choose different songs for different rooms. It's up to you. And so is which Controller you use - the dedicated Sonos Controller, Sonos Controller for iPhone, Sonos Controller for Mac or PC, or a combination of all four. " - Product Description provided by App Store.

Long story short, it is an application you can download from the Apple store via mac and or iPhone. I had the experience of speaking to someone who used this product in conjunction with his Homekit and Bose speakers which were set up throughout his house. In his situation, Floor 1 -3 Could have 3 different songs playing at once. My assumption is that they have implemented a way to incorporate apple Music into this. What is good about this? Think about being a company with several floors, you now can use 1 single app with 1 set up system with a Homekit install.

I am assuming they will provide the ability to easily control the music from iOS 9.2 on mobile products and the Watch OS.

Thanks to both Paul, Ferd, and PupillaDeiMelo for your speedy answers. Being able to listen to Apple Music on real speakers would be my only reason to get it.

Sonos is to music what Apple is to computers. After seeing my brother’s home setup I bought my first Sonos speaker (an open box unit) about this time last year and set it up in the living room. Immediately added the Pandora service to it and linked it to my computer’s iTunes library. Fantastic! I could access all my music and listen to it in the living room - and lazy me, control it with my iPhone or iPad. Bad news - computer off or asleep lazy me had to get up.

That prompted me to move my music library to my NAS which made Sonos even better but made iTunes beachball like crazy. My NAS access wasn’t fast enough via WiFi and there was no convenient way to bring an Ethernet cable to my computer. But now with my entire library in Apple’s cloud I don’t need to worry about that. This weekend’s project is to move my library back to my computer’s hard drive.
