I got bamboozled into buying an IPad first generation. It's totally useless and I was wondering if anyone knew somewhere to turn it in and get some money back? It was for Christmas and now my daughters Christmas is ruined as I have no money left

Does anyone know somewhere I could trade or sell my ipad first generation and get some money back? I bought it for $160 after being misinformed about what the device was. I don't have any money left for a new Christmas present for my daughter after buying it and not being able to return it. I don't know what to do. Ive tried to make it useful but there's no apps for her and YouTube doesn't even work. There's no camera. I'm at a total loss.

Trade in or sale value for first gen iPad's is pretty low at this point. You can try an online source such as eBay or Craig's list. Probably your best bet. Also, it is possible some retail outlets may offer trade in for it.

The best I've found it $50...I paid $160. ive got a horrible feeling I'm going to lose basically all my money on it

The iPad 1 is still a vable iPad. No camera or the latest apps but you can download older versions of popular apps like YouTube or Facebook. Even if you can't download YouTube it's available on the web.

$160 is definitely more than I would have paid for that model. But Bob is correct. It is a viable device and many apps are still available for it, but you may need to rely on iTunes for updating Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
