MacBook Air (13" 2012) intermittent sound card problems/video

Hey

In the past two months I have noticed that my sound card which has intermittent issues whereby the sound stops working and in system preferences says there is no output device present. I have tried resetting pram and smc and it does not come back. I turned the MBA off for two hours and now the sound is back.

My AppleCare support is up in 6 days and Apple Support tell me to call back when it happens again but that could be in 2 weeks time for all I know.

Also having issues with the video card where sometimes it breaks up or gets pixelated near the top edge of the screen.

I also ran the Apple Diagnostics and everything reports back fine.

Lastly I am noticed something rattling around in my MBA and opened it to have a look as i thought something might get caught in the fan, lo and behold the battery assembly had cracked around the screw holes that fasten it to the chassis.

Does anyone have any similar experiences or solutions?

Thanks

Damian

To follow up: I brought my macbook air into my local apple suppliers store and they checked it over and found issues with the battery which they think were causing these problems. As my MBA was still under Applecare, they replaced battery and the MBA has been great since. The performance has even increased and no issues with sound card since.
