Importing footage from Sony PXW-X70

Dear community,

The Sony PXW-X70 is a low-cost professional XDCAM compact camcorder with 2 built-in SD Card slots.

I am running FCP X 10.2.2 on El Capitan 10.11.1, on a Mac Book Pro (mid-2014).

When I open the application with one of the SD cards in my computer,

or when I connect my camera with the SD cards in it, and I go to «capture»

inside the application, it crashes.

Does anyone know how to do it ?

Many thanks,

Michael.

I don't know if this is possible, even after installing the Pro Video Formats (a package

of QuickTime Codecs available on this page :

Pro Video Formats 2.0.3

Apparently the recommended solution is not to import directly into FCP X, but to use
first one of the applications provided by Sony that is part of the Catalyst suite, as
indicated in this post :

Re: Sony PXW-X70 XAVC Clips into FCPX

The Catalyst production suite can be downloaded on this page :
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/

Catalyst Prepare is not free after 15 days of use, whereas Catalyst Browser is always
free.

Hope this helps other users !

Best,

Michael.
