How do you upgrade drivers on a Macpro video card?

Could not find any capable video play module. Please update your video display drivers and start again. This is the error I get after Premiere 2015 CC loads everyting imaginable. When it hits "Decklink transmitter" that's when it stops loading and gives me the error.

I thought PP would run if all you had was two computer monitors that worked. I have that, but it won't ever finish loading and run because of this error.

I see a lot of messageson the internet an lots of solutions like "run as administrator" and set your graphics card to "ull power"rather than "alanced power." These have apparently worked for some Windows users, but neither is available on the Mac Pro. And I am told that video card updates are included in the Mac OSX. I just upgraded from 10.8.6 to 10.10.3 so I could install and run the Adobe CC2015 software, but now I find that it won't run. I also moved from BM Multibridge Eclipse to the Decklink 4K Studio card. It seems to work but it may be what's stoppiing PP 2015 from running. I have a Mid 2012 MacPro with 32gigs of ram running 10.10.3 and the new Decklink ard with the lastest firmware and the latest video software from Black Magic, but PP 2015 won't run. I have an ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1024 mb on thecard.

I'm just puzzled how to get rid of this error on the Mac. I can't change anything in Premiere Pro because it fails to start running. Any help wouild sure be appreciated. Are there any parameters in starting PP that would allow it to open and run on just the two computer monitors? They are working fine. I have a SONY 4K monitor TV hooked to the HDMI out of the Decklink card and it works when I open and run PP CS6, but I just get the error

when I try to run PP 2015. Need some help. I've got some editing I need to get done.

Thanks!

sorry- I don't have much in the way of good news. Acccording to Adobe, there's a certain type of card needed for GPU acceleration, and the 5770 isn't reallly it.

the video card updates are included in Mac OS X. You could try this hack to see if you can get Premiere pro to recognize your video card, but your mileage may vary.

it;s unsupported by both Adobe and Apple, but shouldn't hurt things too much. Apart from buying and installing a better video card, that's about all you can do for right now

good luck

AMD video card drivers are provided by Apple as part of OS X, the only way to get newer versions is by installing a newer version of OS X and hoping that has also a newer driver version.

Other than that, Adobe software is generally optimised for Nvidia cards rather than AMD cards, therefore an option would be to replace your card with something like an Nvidia GTX-680 or higher. See http://www.macvidcards.com/store/p8/Nvidia_GTX_680_2_GB,_4_GB.html

John, I bought a GTX-970 from MacVidCards and installed it tonight and I still can't run Premiere 2015. It seems to load everything but when it's finally finished with the splash screen it stops and errors out with "Could not find any capable video play module. Please update your video display drivers and start again." This drives me crazy. I have El Capitan, I have a hot Nvidia card with the very latest drivers for my actual build of OSX and the latest Cuda driver from NVidia. Why won't Premiere run? 2014 version runs fine. And what is it really saying when it says "capable video play module" what hardware are they talking about? When I checked After Effect 2015 to see if it ran, and it did. it saif I didn't have quick time installed so some features may not work. Does that have anything to do with Premiere's problem? Of course I do have 7.7 and 10.? whatever installed and working so I don't get that either. I've got Premiere Pro 2015 working on a much lesser windows computer I built. It's four years old but runs these 2015 versions just fine. Why won't the MacPro run PP2015.

What capable Play module am I missing?

Help!

Sorry I am not an Adobe user and don't have a copy myself. It sounds like you have a software issue with Premiere.

I can only recommend you either contact Adobe direct or use their forums at https://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere

QuickTime is built-in to OS X so it is pretty much impossible to not have it installed. QuickTime however has changed quite substantially since Mavericks was released but if you do genuinely have Premier 2015 and After Effects 2015 these should be fully up-to-date with those changes. There is an optional installer to install an older version of QuickTime Player but I would not expect this to be necessary. The Premiere message about a video play module could be interpreted as referring to a QuickTime video codec but again Premiere 2015 should be up-to-date for OS X.
