The resource below explains how to sync your iPhone with iTunes on your computer, and how to transfer purchases. What step in this process is not working for you? Are you seeing any specific error messages?
If you enable Automatic Downloads on your computer, and choose Apps, you can set the preference for the computer to automatically check for updates and download the information to the computer.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes using USB

- Open iTunes.
- If you haven't authorized your computer, choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
- Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences. Then click the Store tab.
Windows: Hold down the Control and B keys on your keyboard to open the iTunes menu bar. Choose Edit > Preferences. Then click the Store tab. Learn more about menus in iTunes for Windows. - Select the content that you want to automatically download. If you can't select anything, sign in to the iTunes Store with your Apple ID.

- Click OK.

New apps purchased from iPhone App Store can be synced to mac iTunes. Only problem is updated apps are unable to sync to mac iTunes. I have to always update apps from mac iTunes though i have updated the apps from the iPhone.

I've tried your suggestion but the problem is still there. Updated apps still can't sync over to Mac.

You can download all of your past iTunes Store purchases to your computer by following the instructions below. In the future, if you need to redownload an app that you have purchased for your iPhone, you will receive the most current version of the app.
iTunes 12 for Mac: Download previous purchases from the iTunes Store

On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Tap App Store.
- On an iPhone or iPod touch: Tap Updates, then tap Purchased.
On an iPad: Tap Purchased. - Scroll to find the app that you want to download.
- Tap the Download icon
. After the app downloads, you can open it from your Home screen.
On a Mac or PC
You can redownload apps for iOS devices in iTunes and apps for you computer in the Mac App Store.
From iTunes:
- Open iTunes.
- Click More
in the upper-left corner. - Choose Apps
from the menu. - If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID and password.
- Under Quick Links on the right side of the App Store, click Purchased.

- Select Not in My Library to view purchased content that isn't on your computer.

- Scroll to find the item that you want to download.
- Click the Download icon
in the upper-right corner of the item you want to download. Your app downloads to your library. If an app is already in your library, the Download icon won't appear.
