Best wireless gamepad for MacPro late 2013

I just downloaded my very first game on my Mac Pro late 2013. Clearly, I did not purchase the Pro for gaming, but what the heck, I would like to see if I can also use it for gaming.

The thing is that playing with the keyboard and mouse is a nightmare. So, I would like to purchase a fairly nice compatible gamepad for the mac, one that without any doubt, could connect either by USB or bluetooth, preferably the latter.

I purchased the Dualshock 4 (for PS4) gamepad, but for some reason I can not understand, it is not recognized by the Mac and the USB ports. I do not know if it is the cable, if it is that the PS4 is not charged (I don't have a PS4 console) and needs to be charged... When attempting to connect it with the bluetooth, it is recognized, but almost immediately, disconnects.

I appreciate any insight you can bring!
