Q: Macbook battery only lasts an hour

Hello all, back again. This time it is a question about batteries. Still rocking my 2008 Aluminum Unibody Macbook (Macbook 5,1) and right now I've got a battery that will only hold a charge for about an hour or so. I've done all the things the internet has told me to do such as calibrate my battery and reset my SMC. However even after doing all the steps the battery has seen no improvement. I installed battery health from the app store and have learned that my battery is sitting at 98% health, and only has 31 charge cycles on it. The only thing that suggests that the battery might in fact be old and decrepit is it tells me the age of the battery is 3.3 years. Now I did buy this machine used earlier this year, so if the person didn't care for the battery properly I'm sure that would be why I get so little charge out of it. I was just hoping that someone might have one last thing I could try before buying a new battery. I haven't tried taking it into the apple store, as their website says they no longer service this particular notebook but next time I'm out by one I still may bring it in to pick their brains. Thanks for any suggestions!

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), 4GB No name Ram, WD 320GB HD
