Q: How to seperate Apple Music library from iCloud (iTunes Match) libary?

Hey,

Is there a way to unpair Apple Music and iCloud (iTunes Match) library? Wanted to sync some Apple Music songs to my iPod nano 5th Gen (I know it's not possible) and I was asked if I would like to merge my Apple Music library with my iCloud (or iTunes Match?) library. I clicked yes but the song wasn't transferred to the iPod. But now I noticed that a few of my songs I uploaded to my iTunes Match library are marked as "Apple Music" and when I download it and try to transfer it to my iPod it says that I can't sync Apple Music songs with that iPod.

So I needed to rip the CD again to sync with my iPod but I want to unpair the Apple Music library from my iCloud library.

Is that possible?

Thanks but unfortunately that didn't help me.

I'm trying to find a way that my songs, which are marked with "Apple Music", will switch to "Uploaded" as they did before I merged my Apple Music library with my iCloud Library.

The only way at this time seems to be that I can only transfer these songs to my iPod nano with the computer I uploaded them from.

What I did (never used iTunes Match so did not have to merge my libraries) but for my wife's iPhone and iPad Mini - which do not have Apple Music or iCloud Music Library turned ON - I made a smart playlist on the iMac that has my full library (about 50,000 tracks plus whatever I added from Apple Music) for only music that is on the computer. (BTW - any music that I added from Apple Music is just streamed, none of them have been downloaded to my iMac.) From this smart list I can then sync my wife's iOS devices the old USB way without turning on iCloud Music Library. I have an older iPod Nano, but have not tried this method yet, but it certainly worked on her two non-Apple Music devices.

See if that would work for you as you will not be able to sync any iPod Nano to a computer that simply has iCloud Music Library turned on but does not have your original physical tracks. And - as you noticed - any songs that you added from Apple Music, whether you downloaded them or not, will not be synced to your Nano.

    HI,

You cannot split iTunes Match and Apple Music. When you subscribed to Apple Music it should not have affected you music that was already in match. Provided all your original matched or uploaded was kept in your library iTunes library, the files should not have been change.

WHat is the file type of the tracks that are tagged as Apple Music. The file type should be Matched AAC Audio file, AAC audio file or MPEG audio file. If so, back up files, delete them from library then readd them. If they have become Apple Music audio file, you will need to delete and restore from your original back ups.
