Q: Photos library not showing in iTunes

I can't see any longer any Photos library inside iTunes->Phone->photos.
Nor my full photos collection neither any newly created test library can be chosen in the option "Copy photos from"

I don't know if this issue is related to latest upgrade to macos 10.11.2 or to some old files cleaning I perform recently.

Anyone know what is missing?

BTW, Photos.app is working without problem. I've tried creating a new test library and setting it as system library, but the result is the same.

Event setting icloud library sync on the test library had no effect.

Have you enabled the Photos library you are using with Photos as the System Photo Library? In the Photos > Preferences > General?

The option "Use as System Photo Library" should be grayed out, to indicate that the current library is the system photo library.

    Yes, I already tried that.

Furthermore, I created another test library, imported a couple of photos and set it as system library, with the same result.

For some unknown reason, Photos.app is not finding the Photos Library.

Is iCloud Photo Library enabled on the iPhone? Then it is not possible at all to sync photos to the iPhone any longer.

Where is your Photos library stored? And the test libraries you created?   Is it in your Pictures folder or on an external drive?

All libraries are stored inside Pictures folder.

I've not enabled iCloud Photo Library on the iPhone, but until a week ago I was able to do it.

Why do you say it's not possible any longer? That's a bit nonsense, as I've read nothing about anywhere, nor media nor help when you set/unset iCloud Photo Library option.

With the test library, I enabled iCloud Photo Library (on MAC, not on iPhone), but that didn't work either. I can just select folders sync.

I would like to know if anyone knows any option to debug or check for Photos.app/Itunes.app log errors.

I said, that you cannot sync photos with iTunes to the iPhone anymore, if you enable iCloud Photo Library on the iPhone.  Then you will see "iCloud Photos is On"  in the "Sync from" pane and no photos library will be shown.

Sync photos from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes - Apple Support

What kind of cleaning did you perform?

Latest mac updates have resolved the problem, so I assume there was some bug that was fixed.
