Will a wired selfie stick work with an iPod Touch 5th Gen?
Not one using bluetooth. A selfie stick that has a wired plug, like the "Self Click" ?

I dont have an iPod, but wanting to buy the selfie stick as Christmas gift for someone who does.

I'm asking if an iPod touch has the capability of responding to a selfie stick that has a wire when you push the button on the selfie stick does it make the iPod Touch take a picture.
If the iPod Touch can do this then what name brand model number of selfie stick would work? Not a Bluetooth model selfie stick.

Plug in your headphones open the camera app and press the Pause/Play button on the headphones.
That is what makes the camera take a picture.
I tried your suggestion, with earbuds that came with Galaxy S5 cellphone having that pause/play button. It didnt work act as shutter button. It did start the voice command aop on the iPod.

Those are for the Galaxy and are not Made for iPod.
Use the earbuds that came with it.

Yep, that would be definitive if it works with iPod. There's one called "Self Click" on sale all over. All it says on package is, "For Android & iOS". Their Cust Service doesnt know if iPod is included.
Try it out.
If they won't let check out the $5 item, go elsewhere.
