Dec 16, 2015 9:23 PM in response to Ben Hendricksby léonie,The cloud i the right corner is shown on some themes in the theme chooser pane.
Does it look like this?
Then you need to select one of the themes to proceed with viewing your book, and clicking on the themes with a cloud will cause the theme to download from the server, because the theme is not yet installed.

Dec 17, 2015 9:50 AM in response to Ben Hendricksby Old Toad,Give this a try:
1 - launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.
2 - import a couple of photos and create a calendar.
3 - try to download a theme for the calendar.
4 - if you're successful close the test library, open your main library and try the calendar themes again.

Dec 17, 2015 11:10 AM in response to Ben Hendricksby léonie,I see, that are indeed the covers of book projects, but they cannot be displayed, because the themes still need downloading.
Did you just migrate an iPhoto library to Photos, and is this the first time you are looking at your books after the migration?
Then the problem might be, that your iPhoto books simply could not be recreated in Photos, because there is no similar theme. If an iPhoto book is not compatible with Photos, it will have been migrated as an album. Look in the "Albums" section for albums named like your book projects.
If your projects are iPhoto books, it would be best to continue to work with them in iPhoto.

Some photo books and calendars, made with themes that are no longer supported in Photos, migrate to Albums.
To download all themes create a new book project. That will hopefully show the theme chooser. Select a theme with a cloud icon to download that theme. Then continue with more themes.
